The All-New 2016 Mazda CX-3 Small Crossover Revealed
The new 2016 Mazda CX-3 is the latest model to adopt the automaker’s KODO: Soul of Motion design language, and the full suite of SKYACTIV technology.
Offering a new entry point into the SUV/CUV segment, the 2016 Mazda CX-3 will serve as the fifth vehicle to receive the KODO design treatment and SKYACTIV technology after models like the Mazda3 sedan and hatchback, Mazd6 midsize sedan, and CX-5 compact SUV. The new 2016 CX-3 small crossover will also include the automaker’s latest technologies such as i-ACTIVSENSE safety features and the Mazda Connect infotainment system.
For the Canadian market, the vehicle will be equipped with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre engine coupled to a standard 6-speed automatic transmission, and Mazda’s new-generation all-wheel drive system, all of which is said to deliver powerful but also outstanding environmental performance. The optional AWD system will feature active torque control for better drivability and vehicle stability – a system that was first used on the Mazda CX-5.
Inside the 2016 Mazda CX-3, the SUV is meant to offer a polished and high-quality feel due to features like a dark red accent color on the armrests and floor console, a heads-up display and pop-up infotainment screen, likely optional.
Overall, the automaker says its new small crossover SUV will provide customers with a vehicle that can be driven in the city, and that will allow consumers to enjoy the great outdoors.
The global launch of the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-3 will begin in Japan in the spring of 2015, and arriving in Canada soon after.
