HOW TO USE GOOGLE BUILT-IN IN THE 2026 MAZDA CX-5

Google Built-In brings Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play directly into the 2026 Mazda CX-5, making navigation, voice control, and entertainment easier to use. After a quick setup, you can enjoy connected features with or without a data connection.

Setting Up Google Built-In

Complete the setup while the vehicle is parked.

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi to verify your Google Account.
  2. Open the setup wizard by selecting the Profile icon if it doesn't launch automatically.
  3. Sign in by scanning the on-screen QR code with your smartphone.
  4. Activate the MyMazda App trial to enable Google Built-In connectivity without using your phone's hotspot.
  5. Enable "Hey Google" by allowing microphone permissions on your phone and in the vehicle settings.

Using Google Built-In With And Without Data

With a data connection, you can:

  • Use Google Maps with live traffic and rerouting. (Example: "Hey Google, find the fastest route home.")
  • Control navigation, calls, and music with Google Assistant. (Example: "Hey Google, call Mom.")
  • Stream apps like Spotify and podcasts. (Example: "Hey Google, play my road trip playlist.")

Without a data connection, you can still:

  • Use offline navigation with cached maps. (Example: "Hey Google, take me to the nearest gas station.")
  • Control supported comfort features by voice or touchscreen. (Example: "Hey Google, turn up the volume to 15 %")
  • Access Private eCall and Stolen Vehicle Assistance, which remain available even without an internet connection.

Additional Features

  • Guest Mode: Lets other drivers use core Google features without signing into your Google Account.
  • MyMazda App: Lets you remotely start the engine, check vehicle health, and send destinations to the CX-5.

Why Google Built-In Stands Out

As the first Mazda model with Google Built-In, the 2026 CX-5 offers seamless access to navigation, entertainment, voice controls, and connected services for a more convenient driving experience.
